Friday afternoon, congressman Mike Thompson met with local entrepreneurs from the north coast business community.  He was also addressed by people from Small Business Development center.  Although Representative Thompson left promptly at the end of the meeting and was not available for comment, several of the people who were there to address him were.

John Sapper, a charter member of the Headwaters Board as well as assistant super-intendant to the Humboldt County office of education, had some interesting observations about the nature of unemployment on the North Coas

Janet Depace, from the North Coast Small Business Development Center, also had some encouraging remarks about progress in Southern Humboldt’s business sector.

Other issues brought to the attention of representative Mike Thompson during the business round table included Humboldt County’s transportation infrastructure and the widening of Highway 101 through so-called “bottlenecks” to the North and South.
